The Origins of Jamaica Frenzy
The origins of Jamaica Frenzy can be traced to Lil Ray’s ClubHouse Jamboree. For over 20 years, The Clubhouse Jamboree holds court as one of the longest running, free, outdoor, House Music events in New York City. and it takes place every year, on the second Sunday in September, since 1994, when it first started at the Prospect Park Bandshell.
The event is hosted and financed every year by liL Ray, with the help of his wife, his family, and many friends who volunteer their time and energy, along with some of the biggest name DJs including DJ Spinna, Karizma, Quentin Harris and artist in the world of House Music, who come from other states and countries. The community event has grown from a gathering of friends and like minded individuals who came together for the last outdoor House music party of the season, into now, a behemoth of an event, and for many, this is now a “must attend” event, with people coming from all over the world. The ClubHouse Jamboree is now one of the largest HOUSE MUSIC event in Prospect Park.
